TRENDHUNTER FEATURES AGE OF REASON PUG SCARVES
Trendhunter has done us the honour of featuring Age of Reason pug scarves this week. Trendhunter is the brainchild of inovator Jeremy Gutsche and seeks to "Find Cool Before it's popular" using an army of hunters who create articles, which can then be ranked by the community. Hunter Shiori Mine penned this great little write up, which captures our punk spirit well.
" The Age of Reason ‘Pug Scarves’ is a series of fashion-forward scarves with a cuddly canine twist. The British retailer specializes in distinctive fine silks that range from pocket-sized squares to extra long stoles.

The playfully patterned accessories feature colorful drips and splashes with an illustration of a punky pug character. The scarves are an ode to iconic British references such as the Union Jack and the underground UK punk scene. Pugs have been long-loved by the British monarchy ever since its introduction by Queen Victoria herself. These pooch-themed kerchiefs are the perfect accessory for the pet-loving stylista in your life. You can’t help but smile at the dopey-eyed expressions on these charming little pups.
London will only be a step away when you strut down the streets in one of these adorable Age of Reason ‘Pug Scarves’."

STYLIST MAGAZINE FEATURES OUR JUBILEE SCARF
As fashion magazines go, Stylist offers the creme-de-la-creme of sartorial tips, so it's great to be featured on their style -list. We've been obsessed with this free mag for ages, so we're thrilled to be in print and online this week.
We also loved Rob Ryans' cutout Jubilee cover. It's a bit of a shame that it was covered by an outer cover with advertising on, but clearly Stylist need the work to be funded somehow.

A MONTH IN PICTURES - MAY 2012
This month at Age of Reason HQ, we've been preparing for a good old Jubilee knees up.
Pictured below are some of our Jubilee scarves in various sizes. Ali's getting into the knees up spirit already in a pair of very un-British leggings from Naked Ape in Reykjavik.

ALEK WEK IN AGE OF REASON
It's the thrill of seeing our scarves worn that always gives us that extra little boost. Even better when they are worn by people we like, admire and swoon at a little bit. So it was a proud moment when Alek Wek sent us these pictures of herself sporting her brand new Age of Reason scarves.
Alek wears out Matches Fashion exclusive Neon Yellow Bondage Doll scarf, and our Neon Pink Pug, which is available from selected stockists and our online shop.
Thanks Alek!

JUBILEE PUNKS JUMP UP
We're immensely proud to unveil our punk take on a commemorative Jubilee scarf.
Made in England from pure silk crepe de chine these come as a 90x90 square, and a 45x45cm pocket square. Featuring our signature punk pug in regal adornments this is a right Royal little number.
These scarves are best enjoyed whilst singing "Gawdddddddd Saaaaaaaaave the Queeeeeeeeeen!" in a Sex Pistols fashion.
Wear yours around your neck, or indulge in a pocket square worn as a wrist cuff. Or simply wave yours jauntily at the passing monarch, who will no doubt be impressed.

LONDONERS BY BADAUDE
We're ever so excited about our collaboration with Tate best selling "London Walks" illustrator/author Badaude.
For Spring Summer 2012, Badaude has designed this beautifully classic London street scene in her inimitable style. It's like a "Where's Wally" of ordinary Londoners with spike haired punks picked out in vibrant colour. With the statue of Eros flying the Union Jack at Piccadilly, we think this just about covers the Jubilee and the Olympic spirt of 2012. In a punk way of course.
The scarf is available as a 140x140cm oversized chiffon scarf, a 90x90cm square and a handy pocket square , which looks fab as a neckerchief or worn on the wrist. Shop at Age of Reason or TATE shops.

LONDON FASHION WEEK - PART 2 - INSPIRATIONS
"As a designer I try to ignore a lot, especially TV and fashion mags. But one thing that always inspires me, wherever I go in the world, is the way people wear things.
Ali Mapletoft, Age of Reason designer.
Like an ongoing relay, high fashion filters down to the street, the street reinterprets, and high fashion takes the baton again. The way people wear things is a great source of inspiration at Age of Reason, and it's not just scarves we look at. Today at London Fashion Week it was all about colour and detail for us. We love exploring textures, the way something is tied, the angle of a hat. What is hidden and what is revealed can also be key to how a look works. Here are some pics that give a flavour of what caught our eye at Somerset House. We're not sure if it was our own use of neons for SS12 scarves that drew us to these glowing colours, but we loved the vibrancy.

LONDON FASHION WEEK PART 1 - ROSE TINTED
One of the greatest joys of any fashion week is people watching. An even greater joy, seeing your own designs as worn by people. Here are some pics napped by our LFW photographer, fashion journalism student/ blogger Claudia Gilchriest. Claudia had an eye for dip-dyed hair and colourful outfits this LFW, with an emphasis on the cute and the unusual.

AGE OF REASON'S WORLD
We're dying share all our SS12 photos with you, but we're being restrained until the website launch on Feb 29th. In the meantime here's a little peek into our world.
Above is the Age of Reason desk, variously used by Ali and Charlie. Our favourite item on this desk is the bird painting by Victor Reyes of the 7th Letter Crew. This was an art swap with Reyes, who Ali did a pen and ink drawing for. Our other favourite thing is the wooden medicine man mask hanging on the wall on the left. Ali bartered for this in Bandiagara Mali a few years back. There's also a South African tumb piano hanging on the wall on the right above the old travelling chest.
This is Ali's drawing table on a lovely sunny day. Most of the furniture was lovingly collected from Spitalfields market and ebay. The storage boxes came from a stall at a fair in Brighton. The best thing though is the little Phil Frost painting, which takes pride of place above the desk. We like a bit of art.
